Question / Interrogative words (Питальні слова) and special words that help us to ask a specific question, which cannot be answered with “yes” or “no”. In Ukrainian question words always come at the beginning of the sentence.

- що? – what?
- де? – where?
- куди́? – to where?
- коли́? – when?
- як? – how?
- зві́дки? – from where?
- скі́льки? – how much, how many?
- чому́? – why?
- яки́й? – what? what kind?
- чий? – whose?
- котри́й? – which?
- Хто це? – Who is this?
- Що це? – What it is?
- Що ти ро́биш? – What are you doing?
- Де зупи́нка? – Where is the busstop?
- Коли́ закі́нчується урок? – When does the lesson end?
- Як спра́ви? – How are you?
- Зві́дки ти? – Where are you from?
- Скі́льки ко́штує? – How much does it cost?
- Чому́ ти вивча́єш украї́нську? – Why are you studying Ukrainian?
- Який це підру́чник? – What textbook is this?
- Чий це телефо́н? – Whose phone is this?
- Котра́* годи́на? – What time is it?
