There is only one tense in Ukrainian for expressing the future. However, there are two forms of verbs: imperfective (for regular, ongoing actions) and perfective (for one-time, finished action). Now we will talk only about Future for imperfective verbs.
Compound form:
verb “to be” (“бути”) + infinitive of the verb denoting the action.
Що ти будеш робити завтра? – Завтра я буду відпочивати. – What will you do tomorrow? – Tomorrow I will rest.
Ми будемо багато працювати наступного року. – We will work hard next year.
Післязавтра він не буде снідати. – He will not have breakfast the day after tomorrow.
Сomplex form:
the infinitive of verb + “м” + the above endings.
Ми працюватимемо багато наступного року. – We will work a lot next year.
Що ти будеш робити завтра? – Завтра я відпочиватиму. – What will you do tomorrow? – Tomorrow I will rest.
Сьогодні вечері він не читатиме. – He will not read dinner tonight.
Я дивитимуся фільм завтра. = Я буду дивитися фільм завтра. – I will watch a movie tomorrow.
